Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets held their annual End of Season Party and Charity Jersey Auction Thursday night at the Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne.
The highest bid of the night was $3,500 for Fort Wayne's MVP of the Year Jamie Schaafsma's #22 sweater. It's the highest bid for a Komet jersey since Justin Hodgman's #88 went for a record high of $5,500 in 2008.The second-highest bid Thursday was $1,600 for the #36 of Anthony Petruzzelli. The third highest was $1,550 for J.C. Campagna's #15 jersey.
In addition, a 2018-19 Komets Scrapbook kept by Fort Wayne fan Tina Mohr attracted a bid of $500.
A total of 22 game-worn jerseys and the special scrapbook combined for a grand total of $24,500. Net proceeds from the auction are to benefit local charities.
