Komets Pre-Season Roster Reaches 26

Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets announced Tuesday that two additional players have signed tryout agreements. Forward Maxwell Tardy and goaltender Eric Mihalik have been added to the preseason roster.

Tardy, 23, was selected by St. Louis in round seven of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft before skating the 2009-10 season with Tri City in the USHL. Tardy ranked fourth on the Storm with 36 points including 12 goals and 24 assists. The Duluth, Minnesota native made his college debut in 2010-11 helping the University of Minnesota-Duluth to an NCAA Championship. Last year Tardy completed his four-year collegiate career appearing in the 25 games with the Bulldogs.

Mihalik (mih-HALL-ik), 23, finished a four-year college career last season with Colgate University posting a career high 2.43 goals-against average and .917 save percentage. The Avon Lake, Ohio native finished with college totals of 32-39-4, 2.83 goals-against average and .903 save percentage in 83 games.The Fort Wayne preseason roster of 26 and includes 14 forwards, nine defensemen and three goaltenders. Forwards: Brett Beebe, Paul Crowder, Mike Embach, Angelo Esposito, Eric Faille, Thomas Frazee, Alex Hudson, Nicola Levesque, Christian Ouellet, Matthew Pisitilli, Kaleigh Schrock, C.J. Severyn, Shawn Szydlowski, Maxwell Tardy. Defensemen: Paul Arnott, Ian Barteaux, Drew Daniels, Matt Krug, William Lacasse, Matthew Maione, James Martin, Cody Sol, Mikael Tam. Goaltenders: Eric Levine, Eric Mihalik, Pat Nagle.

Orange vs. Black open scrimmage-- The Komets are planning a training camp intrasquad scrimmage game on Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 5pm-6:20pm at the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse, 3869 Ice Way in Fort Wayne. The scrimmage will be open to the public free of charge and will feature players fighting to make the 2014-15 Komet roster. The show will air from the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse on WPTA TV 21Alive featuring highlights, interviews and call-ins. Komet players and personnel will serve as co-hosts with 21Alive's Tommy Schoegler. Komet head coach Gary Graham will be Tommy's guest when the half-hour program returns for its second season on Oct. 6. All Komet fans are welcome to attend.
