Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets announced Wednesday that single game tickets for three Komet exhibition games, one AHL exhibition game and all 36 regular season home games for the 2014-15 regular season will go on sale at 10 a.m. this Friday, Sept. 5 at the Coliseum Ticket Office and online at TicketMaster.com.The upcoming campaign marks the 63rd season of Komet Hockey in Fort Wayne and all home games will be played at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. Monday thru Thursday and Saturday games will start at 7:30 p.m., Friday games begin at 8 p.m. and Sunday faceoffs are slated for 5 p.m.Komets' executive vice president of sales Scott Sproat noted: “We’re excited to offer fans throughout Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio exciting ticket programs all designed to make Komet Hockey more affordable and more accessible than ever before.
First for the kids, we’ve partnered with Aunt Millie’s and Parkview Health to present our first ever “Kids Seat FREE” Nights where kids under 12 can get a FREE Ticket at one selected Komet game per month during the season when accompanied by a Paid Adult Ticket, courtesy of Aunt Millie’s and Parkview Health. The “Kids Seat FREE” Nights will be offered on: Friday 10/31, Saturday 11/29, Monday 12/29, Sunday 1/18, Sunday 2/08, Sunday 3/15, and Friday 4/01. And our Kids’ Halloween Costume Parade takes place on Friday 10/31 presented by Aunt Millie’s and Parkview Health. We’ve partnered with PHP to offer two Report Card Nights (Saturday, November 22nd 7:30pm vs. Greenville and Saturday, February 21st 7:30pm vs. Gwinnett) where students with an “A” or “A Equivalent” on their most recent report card earn a FREE ticket and have the chance to win one of two $1,000 US Savings Bonds to be put towards their future education.
For our Season Ticket Holders, we’ve partnered with OmniSource in a rebranding and revamping of our Unused Season Ticket Exchange Nights. Through our “OmniSource Season Ticket Recycling Nights” our Season Ticket Holders will once again be able to exchange their unused Season Tickets for tickets ANYWHERE IN THE BUILDING, courtesy of OmniSource. The OmniSource Season Ticket Recycling Nights are scheduled for: Friday 1/02, Friday 1/30, Wednesday 2/18, Wednesday 2/25, Sunday 3/22, and Wednesday 4/08.
The Komet schedule is packed with other events throughout the season to benefit local non-profit organizations and charitable causes. Our 2nd Annual Teddy Bear Toss happens on Friday 11/21 presented by Huntington University. The team will wear special military-themed jerseys with auction to benefit the Veterans Airlift Command during our Military Appreciation Weekend presented by Window World on Saturday 12/20 and Sunday 12/21. This weekend will include our annual Operation Komet Kare Package Collection Drive where donations of convenience items are accepted to be sent to our troops overseas. The Komets will “Pink-the-Rink” with special breast cancer awareness pink jerseys with auction to benefit the Vera Bradley Foundation on Friday 1/30 and Saturday 1/31. We’ll “Wear Blue” with special throwback orange-and-blue jerseys with auction to benefit Men’s Prostate Cancer Awareness courtesy of Fifth Third Bank the weekend of Saturday 3/21 and Sunday 3/22.
And finally with an eye towards providing affordable ticket options and fun to fans and families of all ages, our Marathon Fill-up Card Friday Nights return every Friday night during the Regular Season, every Sunday night features a Post-Game Open Skate with the Komets on Coliseum Ice as part of our Sunday Night Wendy’s Family Nights. Fans will still be able to sit in the Fort Wayne Newspapers Upper Deck “Extra Section” for only $8 by picking up a coupon in Komet ads found in the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette and/or Fort Wayne News-Sentinel.

Long-time rival Kalamazoo will make a trip to Fort Wayne for a 7:30 p.m. preseason faceoff Monday, Oct. 13. AHL Monsters vs. Griffins exhibition game in Fort Wayne-- Also, Fort Wayne will be treated to an AHL exhibition game for the first time ever when the Lake Erie Monsters, the Komets' AHL affiliate, will be in town to host the Grand Rapids Griffins Saturday, Oct. 4 at 7:30 p.m. Prices of all exhibition game tickets, including the AHL exhibition game, will range from $8.00 to $15.00.Home Opener Saturday, Oct. 18-- The official start to Fort Wayne's 63rd season of Komet Hockey begins with a home-and-home series against the new intrastate rival Indianapolis Fuel. Defenseman Tam agrees to terms-- The Komets also announced Wednesday that Mikael Tam (pronounced Michael Tamm) has agreed to terms and becomes the seventh defenseman on the preseason roster.
Tam, 23, will be entering his third pro year after sharing last season with Lake Erie in the AHL (34 games) and Denver in the CHL (14 games). The Quebec City, Quebec native helped Denver to the 2014 Presidents' Cup Finals after finishing the season scoring seven assists and nine points in 14 regular season games. Tam notched three goals and six points in 14 post-season games with the Cutthroats.In 2011-12 Tam completed five seasons of major juniors play (QMJHL) with the Quebec Remparts under head coach Patrick Roy, currently head coach of Fort Wayne's NHL affiliate the Colorado Avalanche. Tam led Quebec with 106 penalty minutes and topped Remparts defensemen with 15 goals. Tam appeared in the playoffs each of his five seasons in the juniors, registering QMJHL totals of 11 goals, 22 assists and 33 points in 66 post-season games. Tam made his pro debut in 2012-13 appearing in 37 ECHL games with San Francisco while also logging 19 AHL games with Worcester.
The Fort Wayne preseason roster reaches 20 players and includes 12 forwards, seven defensemen and one goaltender. Forwards: Brett Beebe, Paul Crowder, Mike Embach, Angelo Esposito, Eric Faille, Thomas Frazee, Alex Hudson, Christian Ouellet, Kaleigh Schrock, C.J. Severyn, Shawn Szydlowski, Greg Wolfe.
