Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets announced Friday that goaltender Francois Tremblay has been recalled by Lake Erie of the AHL. To fill the void, the Komets have added netminder Joe Howe to the roster.

Howe, 24, made his pro debut last season appearing in 18 games with Cincinnati in the ECHL and seven games with Missouri in the CHL. Howe posted a 2.78 goals-against average and 10-3-4 record during his stint with Cincinnati while registering a 2.53 goals-against average and 3-2-1 record with Missouri. Prior to turning pro, the Plymouth, Minnesota logged a four-year collegiate career with Colorado College in the WCHA and was a three-time WCHA All-Academic Team member.The Komets also announced that forward Mitchell Heard has been reassigned by NHL affiliate Colorado to Fort Wayne. Heard, 22, started this season appearing in one game with Lake Erie in the AHL. The Bowmanville, Ontario native made his pro debut during 2012-13 posting three assists and four points in 23 games with Lake Erie. Heard skated all of last season with Lake Erie scoring four goals and 12 points in 63 games. He ranked third on Lake Erie and fourth among AHL rookies with 167 penalty minutes. The forward was selected by Colorado in round two of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft before completing a four-year juniors career with Plymouth in the OHL during 2012-13.

Home Opener Saturday night-- The Komets will open their third ECHL season tonight at Indianapolis against the Fuel at the Fairgrounds Coliseum before returning to Fort Wayne to host Indy Saturday night at 7:30 for the 63rd home opener. Fans are encouraged to arrive early for the pregame festivities.

Still plenty of great seats available for Saturday's home opener. Single game tickets and season tickets for 2014-15 are on sale. Single game tickets can be purchased at the Coliseum Ticket Office and online at www.ticketmaster.com. Season Tickets are on sale at the Komet office, 1010 Memorial Way, in Fort Wayne. Games will be broadcast on WOWO Radio AM 1190 and FM 92.3 and also can be heard worldwide on the web at Komets.com presented by OmniSource Radio Recycle. Tonight's game will also be telecast in the Fort Wayne area on MyTV with 21Alive's Tommy Schoegler calling the play-by-play. 18 Komet road games will be broadcast on the station's Fort Wayne digital and cable channels including digital channel 33.2 and cable channels Comcast SD 18 and 252, Comcast HD 1018, Direct TV 34, Frontier SD 9 and Frontier HD 509. The Tilted Kilt is the official watch zone for Komet games on MyTV this year. Komet fans are invited to watch all of the MyTV game broadcasts at the Tilted Kilt Pub and Eatery in Jefferson Pointe on Illinois Road.
