Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets' training camp for 2014-15 opened last Sunday at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. Currently 27 players are in camp as it reaches the midway point of the first week.Players were introduced to the media at a training camp luncheon held today at the Coliseum. This will be the first season of Fort Wayne's affiliation with the NHL's Colorado Avalanche and the AHL's Lake Erie Monsters.The Komet camp runs through next week and includes three exhibition games, all at the Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne. The Evansville IceMen visit for back-to-back tune-ups this Friday (8pm) and Saturday (7:30pm). The Komets will then host the Kalamazoo Wings in preseason action Monday, Oct. 13 at 7:30pm.

The 63rd season of Komet hockey in Fort Wayne opens when the Komets visit the Indianapolis Fuel Friday night, Oct. 17 at 7:35pm. Both teams return to Fort Wayne for the Komets' home opener Saturday, Oct. 18 at 7:30pm. Fans are encouraged to arrive early for pregame festivities.A complete training camp schedule appears at the end of this release.

Game times-- The Komets will continue with game times of 7:30pm for all home games Monday through Thursday and on Saturdays. Friday home games faceoff at 8pm and Sunday home games will start at 5pm.

Komet Hockey on WOWO Radio and recycled on the web by OmniSource-- Bob Chase will return for his 62nd season behind the Komet microphone when the Komets open the season at Indianapolis Friday, Oct. 17. Komet games will be broadcast on WOWO Radio AM 1190 and FM 92.3. Games will also be heard worldwide on the web at Komets.com presented by OmniSource Radio Recycle. Chase will be radio rinkside for most Komet games. Shane Albahrani will broadcast select games in Chase's absence. No exhibition games will be broadcast.Komets return to MyTV-- Live telecasts of 18 Komet road games will continue for the second straight season, an increase of six games over last year. The games will be broadcast on the station's Fort Wayne digital and cable channels including digital channel 33.2 and cable channels Comcast SD 18 and 252, Comcast HD 1018, Direct TV 34, Frontier SD 9 and Frontier HD 509. 21Alive's Tommy Schoegler and Kent Hormann will again handle the play-by-play. Coverage begins with the Komets' season opener at Indianapolis Friday night, Oct 17 at 7:30pm.

The Tilted Kilt is the official watch zone for Komet games on MyTV this year. Komet fans are invited to watch all of the MyTV game broadcasts at the Tilted Kilt Pub and Eatery in Jefferson Pointe on Illinois Road.

Sound Off with the Komets returns to 21Alive on Monday nights-- The Komets, 21Alive and SportONE/Parkview Icehouse will present Sound Off with the Komets, a live weekly telecast each Monday night at 7:30 during the Komet season. The show will air on WPTA TV 21Alive from the SportONE/Parkview Icehouse, 3869 Ice Way in Fort Wayne, featuring highlights, interviews and call-ins. Komet players and personnel will serve as co-hosts with 21Alive's Tommy Schoegler. Komet head coach Gary Graham will be Tommy's guest when the half-hour program returns for its fourth season this Monday night, Oct. 6. All Komet fans are welcome to attend.Komet ticket programs-- Many ticket plans are available to Komet fans this season. For the kids, the Komets, Aunt Millie's and Parkview Health present the first ever "Kids Seat Free Nights" where kids under 12 get a free ticket at a selected Komet game each month during the season when accompanied by a paid adult ticket. Kids Seat Free nights are offered on Friday, Oct. 31, Saturday, Nov. 29, Monday, Dec. 29, Sunday, Jan. 18, Sunday, Feb. 8, Sunday, March 15 and Friday, April 1. Also, the Komets have partnered with PHP to offer two Report Card Nights this year. Students with an "A" or "A equivalent" on their most recent report card earn a free ticket and have a chance to win one of two $1,000 U.S. Savings Bonds for future education on Report Card Nights Saturday, Nov. 22 and Saturday, Feb. 21.Season Ticket Holders can take advantage of OmniSource Season Ticket Recycling Nights and exchange their unused season tickets for tickets anywhere in the building on six different nights including Friday, Jan. 1, Friday, Jan. 30, Wednesday, Feb. 18, Wednesday, Feb. 25, Sunday, March 22 and Wednesday, April 8.Friday nights will continue to be Marathon Nights at Komet home games. Fans can take advantage of the buy-one-get-one-free ticket offers for any of the 10 Friday night home games beginning Halloween night Oct. 31 when Kalamazoo visits for an 8:00 faceoff. Fill-up cards are available at all participating Marathon stations.
