Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets kickoff a set of three home exhibition games tonight when the Evansville IceMen visit for an 8pm faceoff at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
The Komets and IceMen will also faceoff in preseason play at the Coliseum Saturday night at 7:30pm. The Komets were 5-3-1 in nine regular season meetings last season and 2-0-1 on home ice against intrastate rival Evansville.Monday the Komets will cap the preseason schedule with a 7:30pm faceoff against the Kalamazoo Wings at the Coliseum. Last season the Komets posted a 4-7-3 regular season series record against the Wings. Kalamazoo opens their exhibition season tonight at Toledo in the first of a pair against the Walleye. The Wings host the Walleye Saturday at Wings Stadium before making the trip to Fort Wayne for Monday night's tuneup.
After Monday night's tilt against Kalamazoo the Komets will prepare for the season opener at Indianapolis Friday, Oct. 17 at 7:35pm at the newly renovated State Fairgrounds Coliseum. The Komets will present the 63rd home opener in Fort Wayne Saturday, Oct. 18 when the new Indy Fuel visit at 7:30pm.

Forwards C.J. Severyn and Nathan Condon have been assigned to Fort Wayne by AHL affiliate Lake Erie. Defenseman James Martin participated in the Lake Erie training camp and has been returned to Fort Wayne.
