Fort Wayne, IN-- The ECHL announced today that Fort Wayne forward Matthew Pistilli has been named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for the period of Oct. 20-26.Pistilli netted a pair of goals and added three assists for five points and posted a +4 in the three games played during the second week of 2014-15.
The Montreal, Quebec native was scoreless on four shots in the Komets' 3-2 overtime win at Kalamazoo Friday night before scoring a goal and an assist in Fort Wayne's 6-2 home win over Missouri Saturday. Sunday Pistilli notched the first goal of the game and dished two assists for a three point afternoon in a 4-0 win at Indy. Pistilli ranks second in the ECHL and leads the Komets with four goals and eight points after five games and has helped the Komets streak to a 5-0-0 start on the season.Pistilli, 26, has logged 157 points (63g, 94a) in 148 career ECHL games, including his five games this season with Fort Wayne. The forward has also registered 67 points (30g, 37a) in 201 American Hockey League career games.
Wings here for Halloween weekend Friday and Saturday-- This week the Komets are home for a Halloween double-header weekend against the Kalamazoo Wings. The division rival Wings visit Friday at 8pm and again Saturday night at 7:30 for their first and second visits out of six this season.
The Komets will present the Halloween Parade On Ice Friday night during the first intermission. Prizes will be awarded to creatures best in costume. Also, Friday night is the first Kids Seat Free Night of the season, courtesy Aunt Millie's, Parkview Health and the Komets. Any child under the age of 12 can see the game for free with a full-priced adult ticket purchase.Friday night Marathon Night-- The Komets continue to provide affordable ticket options this year with the Marathon Fill-Up Card for all Friday night games during the regular season. Fans can earn a buy-one-get-one-free ticket offer with the purchase of three fill-ups at any participating Marathon location. The next Marathon Fill-Up Card Friday Night is this Friday when the Komets host Kalamazoo at 8pm.
