Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets announced today that defenseman Gabriel Beaupre and forward Reid Petryk have been reassigned to Fort Wayne. Also, Pat Nagle, who was called up to Lake Erie Monday and served as backup goaltender for the Monsters in two AHL games this week, has been released by Lake Erie and returned to Fort Wayne.
Beaupre (BOW-pray), 22, started the season with Lake Erie in the AHL before his first assignment to Fort Wayne Nov. 10. Beaupre had one assist and six penalty minutes in nine games with Lake Erie. The defenseman had eight penalty minutes in two games during his first assignment with the Komets.
Petryk (PET-trick), 21, is also on his second assignment to Fort Wayne this season. The left winger started the season in Fort Wayne logging 10 games (0pts) before his reassignment to Lake Erie Nov. 22 where his posted a goal and two points in three games.
Nagle, Beaupre and Petryk are expected to be in the lineup tonight when the Komets skate at Kalamazoo at 7:30.
In another transaction, the Komets also announced that forward Brett Beebe has been placed on waivers. Beebe had five penalty minutes in five games with the Komets.
Komets home Saturday and Sunday for Military Appreciation Weekend-- This weekend is Military Appreciation Weekend when the Komets host Indy Saturday at 7:30pm and Evansville Sunday at 5pm. The Komets will wear Military Throwback Jerseys to be auctioned to benefit Veterans Airlift Command. Fans are also asked to bring items that will be collected four our troops overseas such as books, magazines, DVD's, snacks, sanitizers, wipes, hard candy or anything for our troops that can be included in the Komet Kare Packages. Also, all military, active and veterans, can take advantage of the Komets' Military Appreciation Ticket Offer where they can buy one ticket and get one free with a military I.D. for both games this weekend.
