Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets will be busy this weekend skating three games in three nights beginning with a double-header road trip to Evansville for games Friday and Saturday nights. Both games at Evansville face off at 8:15pm Fort Wayne time. The Komets enter the weekend riding a five-game winning streak.Walleye visit Sunday-- Sunday the Toledo Walleye make their first trip of the season to Fort Wayne for a 5pm faceoff. The first-place Komets (16-4-0, 32 points) hold a two-point margin over the division rival Walleye (14-3-2, 30 points) who skate at Wheeling tonight. While the Komets skate at Evansville Friday and Saturday, the Walleye face Kalamazoo in a home-and-home series. Sunday's game, which could be a battle for first-place overall in the ECHL, will be the third game in three days for the Komets and the fourth game in five days for Toledo.
All three Komet games this weekend will be broadcast on WOWO Radio AM 1190 and FM 92.3. Radio broadcasts are also webcast at Komets.com presented by OmniSource Radio Recycle. Saturday's game from Evansville will also be telecast locally on MyTV. Komet fans are invited to watch the telecast at the Tilted Kilt Pub and Eatery in Jefferson Pointe on Illinois Road.Bartus added to lineup-- The Komets announced today that netminder Garrett Bartus has agreed to terms and been added to the Fort Wayne roster. Bartus, 25, has appeared in three games this season with Pensacola of the Southern Professional Hockey League (1-2-0, 3.02gaa). Bartus logged 24 games with Evansville last season in his first pro year registering an 8-9-6 record and 3.30 goals-against average.
Schrock on I.R.-- The Komets also announced today that right winger Kaleigh Schrock has been placed on 21-day injured reserve.Wendy's Family Night Sunday-- The Komets present Wendy's Family Night at every Sunday home game this season. Coupons for a Sundays 4-for-$28 ticket offer are available at Wendy's locations around the Fort Wayne area. Also, fans can bring their skates for a free open skate after each Sunday Family Night home game.
Home for the holidays-- After this Sunday's home tilt against Toledo, the Komets will be home for a double-header weekend Saturday, Dec. 20 against Indy and Sunday, Dec. 21 against Evansville. After Christmas, the Komets will be home for four straight games in seven nights. The holiday stretch includes games Friday, Dec. 27 (Evansville), Monday, Dec. 29 (Quad City), the annual New Year's Eve game Wednesday, Dec. 31 (Indy) and Friday, Jan 2 (Wheeling).
