Pistill scores game winner in return to Komet lineup

Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets announced Thursday that right winger Matthew Pistilli had been released from his PTO with the AHL's Norfolk Admirals and was returning to the Fort Wayne lineup. Upon his return, he scored the game winner Friday night in the Komets' 4-2 victory at Evansville and helped extend Fort Wayne's win streak to six games, their longest win streak since 2011. Pistilli now has points in 10 of his 13 total appearances of the season with Fort Wayne.

Also scoring for the Komets Friday night was Shawn Szydlowski, Thomas Frazee and Garrett Meurs. Meurs extended his point-scoring streak to five games (7g, 1a) and goal streak to an ECHL high five games (7g). Pat Nagle earned his fourth straight win and second straight road win on 24 saves to improve to 11-3-0, 2.38 goals-against average and .909 save percentage. -Gamesheet-The Komets will skate the second of back-to-back games at Evansville tonight at 8:15 before returning home to face the division rival Toledo Walleye Sunday afternoon at 5pm.

Komet games this weekend are slated to be broadcast on WOWO Radio AM 1190 and FM 92.3. Radio broadcasts are also webcast at Komets.com presented by OmniSource Radio Recycle. Tonight's game from Evansville will also be telecast locally on MyTV. Komet fans are invited to watch the telecast at the Tilted Kilt Pub and Eatery in Jefferson Pointe on Illinois Road.Wendy's Family Night Sunday-- The Komets present Wendy's Family Night at every Sunday home game this season. Coupons for a Sundays 4-for-$28 ticket offer are available at Wendy's locations around the Fort Wayne area. Also, fans can bring their skates for a free open skate after each Sunday Family Night home game.

Home for the holidays-- After this Sunday's home tilt against Toledo, the Komets will be home for a double-header weekend Saturday, Dec. 20 against Indy and Sunday, Dec. 21 against Evansville. After Christmas, the Komets will be home for four straight games in seven nights. The holiday stretch includes games Friday, Dec. 27 (Evansville), Monday, Dec. 29 (Quad City), the annual New Year's Eve game Wednesday, Dec. 31 (Indy) and Friday, Jan 2 (Wheeling).
