Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets clipped the Wings at Kalamazoo Friday night 5-4 to remain unbeaten in regulation nine straight games (9-0-1) and extend their road win streak to an ECHL-high six games.Shawn Szydlowski led the charge at Kalamazoo scoring two goals and an assist for his third three-point outing of the season while increasing his road goal-scoring streak to four games (5g). Christian Ouellet, Eric Faille and Matthew Pistilli also hit the net for the Komets. Faille pushed his point streak to six games (4g, 4a) and extended his point-scoring road streak to a league-high eight games (5g, 8a). Mike Embach also has a three-point night with three assists. Garrett Bartus earned the win in his first Komet start making 27 saves on 31 shots. -Gamesheet-The Komets improved to 19-4-1 for 39 points to share the ECHL standings lead with Toledo and Florida.-ECHL Standings-
Komets home tonight and Sunday for Military Appreciation Weekend-- This weekend is Military Appreciation Weekend when the Komets host Indy tonight at 7:30pm and Evansville Sunday at 5pm. The Komets will wear Military Throwback Jerseys to be auctioned to benefit Veterans Airlift Command. Fans are also asked to bring items that will be collected four our troops overseas such as books, magazines, DVD's, snacks, sanitizers, wipes, hard candy or anything for our troops that can be included in the Komet Kare Packages.
