Komets announce player moves

Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets announced Friday that goaltender Pat Nagle has been loaned to the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. Also, forward Phil Bushbacher has agreed to terms and has been added to the Fort Wayne lineup.

Nagle will be making his first appearance of the season in the AHL with the call-up to Rochester. The netminder has posted an ECHL high 16 wins in 21 games with the Komets this season (16-4-1, 2.40 gaa, .909 spct.).Bushbacher, 25, made his pro debut last season sharing the year with Peoria in the SPHL, St. Charles in the CHL and Cincinnati in the ECHL. The forward logged seven games with Cincinnati this year before being released. Bushbacher has skated 37 career ECHL games scoring four goals and 10 points while accumulating 34 penalty minutes.

The Komets also announced Friday that Fort Wayne native Larkin Saalfrank will be performing as emergency backup goaltender in Nagle's absence. Saalfrank and Bushbacher are expected to be in the lineup tonight when the Komets host Wheeling at 8:00.

Nailers visit tonight-- The Komets (23-6-1, 47 points) face division rival Wheeling (13-14-0, 26 points) at 8pm tonight at the Memorial Coliseum. It's the only visit of the season by the Nailers. Wheeling trails the Komets by 21 points in the North Division and are coming off their first win in five games. The Nailers upended the Gladiators at Gwinnett Monday 3-1 to end a four-game losing streak.

Saturday the Komets finish a busy holiday stretch of six games in nine nights with a trip to Toledo (21-5-3, 45 points) for a 6:30pm faceoff at Fifth Third Field. The outdoor game is part of Toledo's Winterfest celebration. The Walleye will skate at Indy tonight before hosting the Komets Saturday.
