The Komets dropped a 2-1 affair at the Memorial Coliseum Sunday to the visiting Kalamazoo Wings setting a new Fort Wayne record of skating 36 straight games before playing back-to-back games without a point. The Wings swept a home-and-home series which started with a 4-2 Kalamazoo win at Wings Stadium Saturday night.
Matthew Pistilli scored the lone Komet goal while Jeremie Blain and Eric Kattelus scored for the Wings. Komet netminder Roman Will (4-2-2) suffered the loss on 27 saves while Kalamazoo's Scott Munroe earned his fourth win of the season to remain unbeaten at 4-0-0 after four appearances this season. -Gamesheet-The Komets enter the ECHL All-Star break tied with Allen for first place in the ECHL with 57 points. Allen has one game remaining before the break which is Monday afternoon at home to Missouri.
The Komets will next skate at Wheeling Friday and Saturday, Jan. 23 and 24. Both games start at 7:35pm. The Komets will return home to host Elmira Friday, Jan. 30 at 8pm in their next home appearance. The Komets will welcome Toledo to the Coliseum Saturday, Jan. 31 at 7:30opm.
