Thomas, Bartus added to roster

Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets announced Wednesday that forward Kyle Thomas and goaltender Garrett Bartus have been added to the roster.

Thomas, 24, made is pro debut this season appearing in one game with Quad City in the ECHL before joining the Columbus Cottonmouths of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL). The Waltham, Massachusetts native scored eight goals and 15 points while logging 19 games with the Cottonmouths. Thomas started his college career in 2009-10 with Norwich University (ECAC-III) earning Rookie of the Year honors and named to the ECAC-E All-Rookie Team. The skater completed his four-year collegiate stint winning the 2013 NCAA Division III National Championship with Norwich.

Bartus, 25, is returning to the Fort Wayne lineup after appearing in two games with the Komets in December (1-0-0) and backstopping Greenville to a shootout win Jan. 4. The St. Charles, Illinois native is in his second pro year after serving 24 games (8-9-6) with Evansville last year.

Komets home Friday and Sunday-- The Komets will return to the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum Friday at 8pm when the Evansville IceMen visit under the direction of their new head coach, and former Komet head coach, Al Sims. The Komets skate at Kalamazoo Saturday night at 7:30 before hosting the Wings Sunday at 5pmFriday Marathon Night-- Fans can earn a buy-one-get-one-free ticket offer for Friday night Komet home games with the purchase of three fill-ups at any participating Marathon location. Use your Marathon Fill-Up Card and save this Friday night when the Komets host the Evansville IceMen at 8:00.

Kids Seat Free Sunday-- Sunday when the Komets host Kalamazoo it's another Kids Seat Free Night, courtesy Aunt Millie's, Parkview Health and the Komets. Any child under the age of 12 can see the game for free with a full-priced adult ticket purchase. Also, fans are invited to bring their skates for a free postgame skate courtesy Wendy's.
