Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets gained four points in week 25 to improve to 46-17-6 and 98 points after 69 games. Fort Wayne trails first-place Toledo (48-14-7, 103 points) in the North division by five points. Each team enters the final week of the season with three games remaining.The week ahead-- The Komets will cap the regular season with three games this week, all with playoff ramifications. Cincinnati visits Wednesday and again Saturday at 7:30 each night. Wednesday's game will be the sixth meeting of the season. The Komets lead the season series 4-1-0 after snagging a 4-3 overtime victory at Cincinnati March 28 in the last meeting. Cincy skates at Toledo Friday before returning to Fort Wayne for the Komets' season finale Saturday. Sandwiched in between the Komets' two home games with Cincinnati this week will be a 7:30pm faceoff at Kalamazoo Friday. The Komets are 8-6-0 heading into the 15th and final meeting. The Komets are 4-4-0 after eight trips to Wings Event Center. The K-Wings will visit Indy Wednesday before hosting the Komets Friday.Komets to open Kelly Cup Playoffs at home, tics on sale-- Fort Wayne's first two games of the 2015 ECHL Kelly Cup playoffs opening round will be held at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum Friday, April 17 at 8pm and Saturday, April 18 at 7:30pm. Kalamazoo, Cincinnati, Wheeling and Indy all have a chance at facing the Komets in the first round entering the final week of the season. The K-Wings hold third place in the North Division with 73 points and own a two-point edge and a game in hand over fourth-place Cincinnati. Wheeling and Indy are tied for fifth place with 68 points and continue to stay alive in the dash for playoff position. Komet tickets for games 1 and 2, regardless of the opponent, are on sale at the Coliseum Ticket Office and online at www.ticketmaster.com.

About last week-- Wednesday the Komets upended the visiting Evansville IceMen 4-1 to take the season series 8-1-0. Shawn Szydlowski scored a pair of goals for his eighth multi-goal game of the season while Christian Ouellet and C.J. Severyn contributed markers. Goaltender Roman Will earned his 14th win of the season making 33 saves on 34 shots.Friday the Komets extended their home win streak to seven games and their home point streak to an ECHL-high 16 games (13-0-3) with a 4-1 victory over the Elmira Jackals. The Komets completed the season series with Elmira at 2-1-0. Scoring for the Komets were Eric Faille, James Martin, Szydlowski and Kaleigh Schrock. Will logged his 15th win of the season and fourth straight home win stopping 21 of 22 shots.Saturday the Komets had their three-game win streak snapped with a 3-2 setback at Indy. It was the only loss of the year at Indy in five trips. The Komets finish the season series with the Fuel at 8-1-2. Mike Embach and Faille each tallied Fort Wayne goals while Will suffered the eighth loss of his rookie year allowing three goals on 28 shots.Streaking Komets-- Faille has points in 14 straight games (14g, 13a) and seven straight road games (8g, 5a) including an ECHL-high six-game road goal-scoring streak (8g).....Szydlowski has an 11-game point-scoring streak (13g, 9a) and a six-game road assist (ECHL-high) and point streak (4g, 8a).....Embach has a four-game point streak (3g, 5a).....Drew Daniels has a three-game assist and point streak (3a).Komet leaders-- Szydlowski leads with 38 goals, 8 power play goals and 73 points, Embach leads with 46 assists, Daniels leads with +48 and Cody Sol leads with 138 penalty minutes.Nagle returns-- Goaltender Pat Nagle has been released from his PTO with the AHL's Rochester Americans. Nagle was called up to Rochester last Thursday, April 2, and appeared in one game with the Americans where he made 31 saves on 37 shots in a 6-0 loss Friday night at Iowa. It was Nagle's second call up to the Americans this year. The netminder also had stints with Grand Rapids and Utica. Nagle is 1-3-1 after five AHL appearances this season.11th annual Bus Stuff for Community Harvest Food Bank-- The annual CampusLink Bus Stuff to benefit the Community Harvest Food Bank will take place at the final two Komet regular season home games on Wednesday, April 8 and Saturday, April 11 against the Cincinnati Cyclones each night. The Komets are asking fans to donate canned or packaged food to benefit this year's Bus Stuff. Partnering with the Komets again on the Bus Stuff promotion are Citilink, Ivy Tech and IPFW.
