Komets fall 3-2 at Toledo

Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets fell 3-2 Saturday night in front of 5,917 at the Huntington Center in downtown Toledo.The Walleye opened the scoring at 1:28 of the first period with their first power play tally of the series by Tyler Barnes. The Komets answered with 32 seconds remaining in the stanza when Kaleigh Schrock tipped Brett Perlini's shot into the top of the net to send the game into the first intermission at 1-1.

Toledo marked twice in the second frame on goals by Troy Schwab and Shane Berschbach while holding the Komets scoreless on 10 shots.

Mike Embach pulled the Komets within one at 11:33 of the third. The Komets directed 13 shots to Toledo's six in the final frame but couldn't find the equalizer before time ran out on game 5. Goaltender Pat Nagle suffered his first setback of the playoffs making 29 saves on 32 shots. Jeff Lerg snagged the win stopping 32 of 34 shots. -Gamesheet-

With the 3-2 victory the Walleye take 3-2 lead in the second round best-of-seven series. The Komets face a must-win situation going into Sunday's sixth game of the series which will be held in Fort Wayne at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum at 6pm (Fort Wayne home playoff game #5 on the ticket). Tickets are on sale at the Coliseum Ticket Office and online at www.ticketmaster.com. The Coliseum Ticket Office will open Sunday at noon with plenty of tickets remaining for Sunday night's match.

If game 7 is needed it will face off Wednesday, May 13 at Toledo at 7:35pm.
