Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets announced Wednesday that defenseman Connor Kucera has agreed to terms for 2015-16.
Kucera, 24, completed a four-year college career at Bowling Green last season before making his pro debut with the Komets during the playoffs appearing in five games."Connor joined the team for the playoffs last season and did a great job for us," Komets general manager David Franke said. "He played very composed and was a good find by Coach Gary Graham."Kucera tied his career highs of seven assists and eight points in 29 games last season with Bowling Green. He amassed collegiate totals of six goals, 26 assists, 32 points and 107 penalty minutes in 141 games with the Falcons.Kucera becomes the second player to be officially added to the 2014-15 preseason roster. Forward Dean Ouellet was named to the roster Tuesday. The 64th season of Komet hockey starts with a home-and-home series against long time rival Kalamazoo. The Komets skate at Kalamazoo Friday, Oct. 16 for the season opener. Then the Komets will face the Wings for the Fort Wayne home opener Saturday, Oct. 17 at 7:30pm.
