Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets announced Wednesday that three exhibition games have been scheduled during the opening week of training camp against Midwest Division rivals and intrastate foes Indy and Evansville. The Komets will skate a preseason match at Indy on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 6pm at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum against the Fuel. The game will be closed to the general public.The Evansville IceMen will visit Friday, Oct. 9, at 8pm for the first of a pair of home exhibition games at the Memorial Coliseum. The Komets will face the IceMen again Saturday, Oct. 10 at 7:30pm.Training camp begins on Monday, Oct. 5 at the Coliseum and will span two weeks. The Komets will open the 2015-16 ECHL regular season schedule against the Kalamazoo Wings Friday, Oct. 16 at Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo. The start of that game has been changed to 7:30pm.The Komets will present their home opener Saturday, Oct. 17, at 7:30pm against Kalamazoo. While it's the first time the Komets have opened the season with a home-and-home series against long-time rival Kalamazoo, it will be the seventh time the Wings have visited for a Fort Wayne home opener. Last season the Komets successfully kicked off their home slate with a 4-3 win over the Indy Fuel.

-See Komets Schedule-Komets add Halabi to preseason roster-- The Komets also announced Wednesday that forward Reid Halabi (huh-LAB-ee) has been added to the preseason roster. Halabi, 20, led the QMJHL (Quebec Major Junior Hockey League) with 181 penalty minutes last season while appearing in 57 games with Chicoutimi and scoring three goals and eight points. The Edmonton, Alberta native made his QMJHL debut in 2013-14 with Moncton, leading the wildcats with 149 penalty minutes in 44 games.

The Fort Wayne preseason roster grows to 22 players and includes two goaltenders, six defensemen and 14 forwards.
