Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets fell 5-1 to the Cincinnati Cyclones Saturday night at the Memorial Coliseum. A Halloween crowd witnessed the Komets drop to 4-2-0 after six games to start the 2015-16 season.
Cincinnati's Jack Downing scored early at 1:58 of the first period to get the Cyclones on the board 1-0. Zach Budish followed at the 8:00 mark for a 2-1 lead before Garrett Meurs hit the net at 14:10 to draw the Komets within one at 2-1.Cincinnati would go on to add three unanswered tallies, two by Eric Robinson and another by Mike Ratchuk to send the game into the second intermission with the Clones at a comfortable 5-1 margin.
The Komets and Cincinnati would hold each other off the board in the third frame and complete the game with Cincinnati snagging a Halloween win.
Komet goaltender Pat Nagle suffered his first loss of the season stopping 15 shots while Cincy's Brad Thiessen earned his third straight win of the season making 36 saves on 37 shots.
The Komets are idle until they are home for a double-header next weekend. Toledo makes their first appearance of the season Friday at 8pm. Kalamazoo visits Saturday at 7:30pm.
