Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets will start a three-game weekend tonight when the Toledo Walleye visit for an 8pm faceoff at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.

It's the first meeting of nine this season against the Walleye (4-2-1) and Toledo's first of four trips to Fort Wayne. The Komets have been idle this week while the Walleye clipped the Cyclones at Cincinnati Wednesday 2-1 in a shootout.Saturday the Komets will host Kalamazoo at 7:30pm and then face the Wings at Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo Sunday at 4pm.Military Appreciation Weekend-- Both home games this weekend are a part of Military Appreciation Weekend presented by Window World. The Komets will wear special patriotic military-themed jerseys to be auctioned to benefit Veterans Airlift Command. Also, all military, active and veterans, can take advantage of the Komets' Military Appreciation Ticket Offer where they can buy one ticket and get one free with a military I.D. for both games courtesy of the Komets' Hero Salute Corporate Partner Fifth Third Bank.Tickets for Komet home games are on sale at the Coliseum Ticket Office and online at TicketMaster.com. Call the 260-483-0011 or visit komets.com for more information.Cheek, Meurs heading for San Antonio-- The Komets announced Friday that forwards Trevor Cheek and Garrett Meurs have been reassigned to AHL affiliate San Antonio. Cheek appeared in all six games to start the season with Fort Wayne and leads the Komets with five goals while adding three assists for eight points at the time of the call-up. Meurs has scored a goal and two points in six games. This weekend the Rampage host Chicago Friday and Sunday and will skate at Chicago Saturday. In additional player movement, the Komets have placed Alex Belzile on the 21-day injured reserve list, effective Nov. 1, and forward Kyle Thomas has been activated from the I.R.Komets on the air-- Most Komet games are scheduled to be aired on WOWO AM 1190 and FM 92.3 as Bob Chase broadcasts Komet hockey play-by-play for his 63rd consecutive season. All Komet radio broadcasts can also be heard worldwide as presented by Omni Source Radio Recycle at www.komets.com. Friday and Saturday's home games this weekend will be aired on WOWO Radio. Sunday's game at Kalamazoo will be broadcast on ESPN Radio AM 1380 with Shane Albahrani substituting for Chase.
