Martin heading back to Fort Wayne

Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets announced Monday that goaltender Spencer Martin is headed back to Fort Wayne and netminder Adam Morrison has been traded to Reading for cash.Martin, 20, has been reassigned to Fort Wayne from San Antonio of the AHL. The White Rock, British Columbia native made his pro debut with the Komets appearing in four games before being reassigned to San Antonio on Nov. 11. Martin, a Colorado Avalanche prospect, posted a 3-0 shutout on 21 saves in his pro debut with the Komets on Oct. 23 against the Indy Fuel in Fort Wayne. He appeared in four games with the Komets (2-2-0, 2.83 gaa, .895 spct.) before his assignment to the Rampage. While with San Antonio Martin appeared in four games registering a 2-1-1 record, 2.76 goals-against average and .921 save percentage. Morrison started one game during his brief stay with the Komets, a 6-4 loss at Toledo last Saturday night (11/21) making 13 saves on 18 shots in 26 minutes of action. Morrison started the season appearing in four ECHL games with Greenville before being claimed off waivers by the Komets Nov. 13.

The Komets will be home this Thanksgiving holiday week for a pair of games. First the Komets skate at Cincinnati Wednesday at 7:35pm before returning home to host the Cyclones on Thanksgiving night at 7:30. The Toledo Walleye visit Saturday for a 7:30pm faceoff.

REPORT CARD NIGHT #1 Saturday-- The Komets will have two PHP Report Card Nights again this year. Students with an "A" or "A Equivalent" on their most recent report card earn a free ticket and have a chance to win a $1,000 U.S. Savings Bonds for future education on Report Card nights. The first is this Saturday, Nov. 28 when the Komets host the Toledo Walleye at 7:30pm. Report Card Night #2 is slated for Saturday, Feb. 6 when the Komets host the Quad City Mallards.Get your tickets early-- Tickets for Komet home games are on sale at the Coliseum Ticket Office and online at TicketMaster.com. Komets on the air-- Komet games are scheduled to be aired on WOWO AM 1190 and FM 92.3 as Bob Chase broadcasts Komet hockey play-by-play for his 63rd consecutive season. All Komet radio broadcasts can also be heard worldwide as presented by Omni Source Radio Recycle at www.komets.com. This Saturday's home game against Toledo will be broadcast on ESPN Radio AM 1380 due to conflicting programming at WOWO Radio.

Soundoff With The Komets continues this year on 21Alive in Fort Wayne. The 30-minute live telecast is hosted by Tommy Schoegler from SportOne/Parkview IceHouse each Monday night at 7:30 throughout the season. Tonight's guest will be defenseman Cody Sol.
