Winger Garrett Meurs reassigned to Komets

Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets announced Monday that right wing Garrett Meurs has been reassigned from San Antonio of the AHL to the Komets.Meurs (meers), 22, started the season with Fort Wayne and appeared in six games (1g, 1a) before he was assigned to the AHL's San Antonio Rampage. The Wingham, Ontario native appeared in two games during his stay with the Rampage. Meurs, a third-year pro, split the 2014-15 campaign between the Lake Erie Monsters (0pts, 20gp), the Colorado Avalanche's AHL affiliate last year, and the Komets (12g, 22pts, 30gp). Meurs also added three goals and six points in 10 playoff games with Fort Wayne.Meurs is expected to be in the lineup this weekend when the Komets skate three games in three nights starting with a home tilt against the Kalamazoo Wings Friday at 8pm. Saturday the Komets hit the road for a 7:15pm faceoff at Toledo before traveling to Brampton to face the Beast Sunday at 2pm.

Kids Seat Free Friday-- The Komets will feature another Kids Seat Free Night when the Wings visit Friday, courtesy Aunt Millie's, Parkview Health and the Komets. Any child under the age of 12 can see the game for free with a full-priced adult ticket purchase. Friday night Marathon Nights-- Again this year Komet fans can save on their Friday night tickets with Marathon. Fans can earn a buy-one-get-one-free ticket offer with the purchase of three fill-ups at any participating Marathon location. Save with your Marathon Fill-Up Card at the game this Friday night when the Komets host the Kalamazoo Wings at 8:00.

Komets on the air-- Most Komet games are scheduled to be aired on WOWO AM 1190 and FM 92.3 as Bob Chase broadcasts Komet hockey play-by-play for his 63rd consecutive season. All Komet radio broadcasts can also be heard worldwide as presented by Omni Source Radio Recycle at www.komets.com. Saturday's game at Toledo and Sunday's game at Brampton will be broadcast on ESPN Radio AM 1380 with Shane Albahrani substituting for Chase.

Soundoff With The Komets continues this year on 21Alive in Fort Wayne. The 30-minute live telecast is hosted by Tommy Schoegler from SportOne/Parkview IceHouse each Monday night at 7:30 throughout the season. Tonight's guest will be goaltender Pat Nagle.
