Defenseman Corbett gets call from San Antonio

Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets announced Thursday that defenseman Cody Corbett has been reassigned to San Antonio of the AHL while goaltender Pat Nagle has returned from his call-up to Grand Rapids Wednesday.

Corbett, a Colorado Avalanche prospect, was assigned to Fort Wayne prior to the start of the ECHL season and has appeared in 17 games scoring five goals and 11 points. The defenseman's five goals have come in the last seven Komet games.Nagle was called-up to the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins Wednesday and served as back-up goaltender in a 4-1 win at Grand Rapids. It was Nagle's second appearance in the AHL this season. The netminder also enjoyed a brief stint with Stockton in November.

Home for the holidays-- The Komets get the busy holiday season started Friday night when they play host to the Indy Fuel at 8:00. Saturday the Komets skate at Indy at 7:35pm before returning home to host the Evansville Icemen Sunday at 5pm.The Komets will skate eight home games during the month of December including three home games in four nights Dec. 18, 19 and 21 after this weekend's pair of games. After Christmas the Komets will be home for games Dec. 26, 29 and New Year's Eve. The Komets will start the new year with games Jan. 1 at Indy and Jan. 2 at Toledo for a total of five games in eight nights after celebrating Christmas.

This Friday's home game against Indy will be the first Komet game on coliseum ice since a 1-0 overtime victory Nov. 28 against Toledo. Last week the Komets won their only game of the week 7-5 at Evansville for a two-game win streak and are 3-1-0 in their last four outings.

STAR WARS NIGHT FRIDAY-- The Komets and Preferred Automotive Group present Star Wars Night this Friday when the Indy Fuel visit. Fans are invited to celebrate the upcoming release of the film Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens at the game. The Komets will wear special Star Wars jerseys which will be auctioned off to benefit Camp Whatcha Wanna Do. Fans can also meet their favorite Star Wars characters and free lightsabers will be given away to the first 1,000 fans. Friday night Marathon Nights-- Again this year Komet fans can save on their Friday night tickets with Marathon. Fans can earn a buy-one-get-one-free ticket offer with the purchase of three fill-ups at any participating Marathon location. Save with your Marathon Fill-Up Card at the game this Friday when the Komets host the Indy Fuel at 8:00.

Wendy's Family Night Sunday-- The Komets present Wendy's Family Night at every Sunday home game this season. Coupons for a Sundays 4-for-$32 ticket offer are available at Wendy's locations around the Fort Wayne area. Also, fans can bring their skates for a free open skate after each Sunday Family Night home game.See the Komets Wednesday, Dec. 16, at Tilted Kilt Pub and Eatery in Jefferson Pointe. Komets play to win for the American Kidney Fund-- Komet forward Mike Embach is looking for CauseMates to help those afflicted with kidney disease. In December the Komets host eight home games and will be accepting pledges for every home game the Komets win during the month. Embach's mother Cindy is affected with stage five kidney disease and the Komets ask for the support of all fans in the fight against kidney disease.
