Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets took a split of a home-and-home series against intrastate rival Indy Saturday night with a 3-2 victory at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum.After spotting the Fuel with a goal by leading scorer Alex Lavoie, the Komets score three unanswered markers by Mike Embach, Drew Daniels and Brett Perlini. Indy's Dylan Clarke made it interesting when he beat Komet goalie Spencer Martin with 4:15 remaining in the third period to draw the Fuel within one but the Komets held on to take the win and two points to move ahead of Indy in the Midwest Division. The Komets improve to 11-8-1 and 23 points and move into third place, trailing first place Quad City by eight points.Martin earned his sixth win of the season (6-3-0) making 31 saves on 33 shots while Fuel netminder Shane Owen suffered his ninth loss (5-9-0) allowing three goals on 31 shots.-Gamesheet--ECHL Video Highlights-

The Komets return home to host Al Sims and his Evansville IceMen today at 5pm. Evansville will also be skating their third game in as many days. Last night the IceMen dropped a 6-4 decision at Cincinnati after turning back the Cyclones 7-3 Friday at Evansville.

Home for the holidays-- Starting this Friday the Komets will hold three home games in four nights before taking the Christmas break. Manchester makes its Fort Wayne debut Friday, Brampton visits Saturday and the Atlanta Gladiators make their only appearance of the year Monday, Dec. 21.

Wendy's Family Night Sunday-- The Komets present Wendy's Family Night today when Evansville visits at 5pm and at every Sunday home game this season. Coupons for a Sunday 4-for-$32 ticket offer are available at Wendy's locations around the Fort Wayne area. Also, fans can bring their skates for a free open skate after each Sunday Family Night home game.
