Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets capped a busy week of four games in five nights Saturday night by edging the Walleye in Toledo 2-1 on goals by Garrett Meurs and Domenic Alberga. The Komets extended their point-streak to seven games (6-0-1) with their third straight win and improved to 6-1-2 in one-goal games. Goaltender Pat Nagle pushed his unbeaten streak to seven games (6-0-1) stopping 31 of 32 shots and improved to 11-5-2 and an overall 2.16 goals-against average. It was Fort Wayne's first win at Toledo since the Winterfest game Jan. 4th last year, snapping a Walleye win streak of five home games including the 2015 playoffs. The Komets hold a season series lead 3-1-0 with five meetings remaining.-Gamesheet-The Komets improved to 17-10-2 and 36 points and move into first place in the Midwest Division leading Quad City by a point and third-place Cincinnati by four points.The Komets are idle until they travel to Quad City for a pair of games Friday, Jan. 8 and Sunday, Jan. 10.
The next Komet home game will be Friday, Jan. 15 at 8pm when the Orlando Solar Bears visit for the only meeting of the season.
