Fort Wayne, IN-- The ECHL announced Tuesday that Fort Wayne goaltender Pat Nagle has been named the CCM ECHL goaltender of the Week for Dec. 28-Jan. 3. It's the fourth time of his ECHL career he has received the honor and first as a Komet.Last week Nagle was 3-0-1 in four appearances and posted a 1.48 goals-against average, .954 save percentage and one shutout.
The Bloomfield, Michigan native stopped 25 shots in a 4-3 overtime loss against Brampton Tuesday, stopped 37 shots for his second shutout of the season in a 7-0 win over Indy Thursday, blocked 32 shots at Indy Friday for a 2-1 win and made 31 saves in a 2-1 win at Toledo Saturday.Nagle finished the week riding a seven game unbeaten streak (6-0-1) helping the Komets to move into first place in the Midwest Division of the ECHL's Western Conference. Overall Nagle is 11-5-2 in 20 games this year and ranks 10th in the ECHL with a 2.16 goals-against average and is tied for ninth with a .923 save percentage.Nagle has logged 166 ECHL career games and is in his second year with the Komets and fifth as a pro.
The week ahead-- A battle for first place in the Midwest Division will take place this weekend when the Komets skate a pair of games at division rival Quad City (16-14-3, 35 points). The double-header starts with an 8:05pm ET faceoff Friday at the iWireless (9,000) Center in Moline, Illinois and concludes with a 5:05pm ET start Sunday.
Komets next home game-- The Komets will host the Orlando Solar Bears when home action continues Friday, Jan. 15 at 8pm. It will be the first of three home games in three straight nights. Rapid City will visit for back-to-back games on Saturday, Jan. 16 at 7:30pm and Sunday, Jan. 17 at 5pm.
