Nagle named ECHL Goaltender of the Week

Fort Wayne, IN-- The ECHL announced Tuesday that Fort Wayne's Pat Nagle has been named the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Feb. 1-7.It's the fifth time in Nagle's career that he has received the weekly honor, tied for third most in ECHL history. It's the second time this season. Nagle also was presented with the award for the week of Dec. 28-Jan. 3.The Bloomfield, Michigan native appeared in both Fort Wayne home games for the week going 2-0-0 after snagging a 5-2 win over Brampton Tuesday and a 3-2 victory against Quad City Saturday. Nagle stopped a total of 55 shots out of 58 for a 1.50 goals-against average and .948 save percentage.In addition, Nagle stopped all six power plays he faced during the week to extend his penalty kill success streak to 40 straight kills dating back to Jan. 8.

Nagle has advanced to fourth among ECHL goaltenders this season with an overall goals-against average of 2.07 and a .925 save percentage while going 20-8-2. During his five-year ECHL career, Nagle has appeared in 178 games with Fort Wayne, Idaho and Florida for an overall record of 100-52-14 with six shutouts, a 2.64 goals-against average and .912 save percentage.The Komets are on the road for four games this week starting with a 7:15pm ET faceoff tonight at Evansville. Friday the Komets visit Cincinnati at 7:35pm, Saturday the Komets skate at Kalamazoo at 7pm and Sunday the Komets cap the week with a 5:15pm start at Toledo. All games this week are scheduled to air on WOWO AM 1190 and FM 107.5 and webcast at Komets.com OmniSource Radio Recycle.

Next at home-- The Komets host a double-header weekend when they return home next week. Friday, Feb. 19 the Toledo Walleye make their third of four visits at 8pm and Sunday, Feb. 21 the Colorado Eagles make their only appearance of the season in Fort Wayne at 5pm.
