The Komets announced today that goaltender Spencer Martin has been reassigned from the AHL's San Antonio Rampage to the Komets.
Martin, 20, was named the AHL's Player of the Week for winning all three games played last week after stopping 91 of 94 shots for a 0.99 goals-against average and .968 save percentage. Martin also logged another shutout for a total of three AHL shutouts this year. The Oakville, Ontario native improved his AHL record with the Rampage to 7-7-1, a 2.65 goals-against average and .921 save percentage in 18 appearances.
Martin has previously appeared in 17 games with the Komets this year going 8-8-1 with a 3.05 goals-against average and .882 save percentage. The rookie netminder has also snagged two shutouts in previous assignments this season with the Komets.
This week the Komets will skate Tuesday night at Cincinnati at 7:35 before returning home for a double-header weekend. Saturday the Indy Fuel visit for a 7:30pm faceoff and Sunday the Evansville IceMen return for a 5pm start.
