Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets are headin' for Texas! Game 3 of the best-of-seven Western Conference finals series is slated for Thursday at the Allen Event Center in Allen, Texas, at 8:05pm ET. Game 4 is scheduled for Saturday, May 21 at 8:05pm ET.The Komets trail Allen in the series 2-0 and if they can force a game 5, it will be skated Sunday in Allen at 5:05pm ET. If games 6 and 7 are needed, they will be played in Fort Wayne next Tuesday, May 24 and Thursday, May 26.

It's the first trip ever to Allen for the Komets. However the K's have been to Texas before. The first time the Komets skated a game in Texas was March 9, 1995 to play the Houston Aeros in the old IHL. The last time the Komets were in Texas was Jan. 30, 2011 when they defeated the Texas Brahmas 3-2 at North Richland Hills, Texas. It was Fort Wayne's only trip to Texas for a CHL match. The Komets played at Houston 11 times in the 90's and added two games at San Antonio against the Dragons during 1996-97. The Komets are 7-5-2 after 14 games in Texas, all regular season games.

Also, the Komets have been down 0-2 to start a series 20 times before (4-16) and have advanced to the next round the last two times in a row, including the first round against Cincinnati this year.

Komet playoff leaders are Shawn Szydlowski with 16 points, Szydlowski and Garrett Thompson with eight goals, Jordon Southorn with 12 assists, Gabriel Beaupre leads the ECHL with +12 and Beaupre and Will Weber with 22 penalty minutes. Pat Nagle has started all 13 games and is 8-3-2 with a 2.27 goals-against average and .908 save percentage.

The winner of the Fort Wayne-Allen series will face the winner of the South Carolina-Wheeling series for the ECHL Kelly Cup Championship.

Komet playoff games from Allen are scheduled to be broadcast on Fort Wayne radio WOWO AM 1190 and FM 105.7 with Shane Albahrani filling in for Bob Chase on the play-by-play. All games broadcast can also be heard on the web at Komets.com, presented by OmniSource.
