Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets will face the defending ECHL Kelly Cup Champion Allen Americans in the Western Conference Finals starting this Friday at 8pm at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.
In the best-of-seven conference quarterfinals the Komets bounced the Cincinnati Cyclones 4-3 and Allen dismissed the Idaho Steelheads 4-3.
In the conference semifinals the Komets eliminated the Utah Grizzlies 4-0 and Allen eliminated the Missouri Mavericks 4-2 with a 5-1 win Tuesday night at Missouri.
The Fort Wayne/Allen best-of-seven conference finals series will run a 2-3-2 format with games 1 and 2 in Fort Wayne this Friday and Sunday. Games 3, 4 and 5, if necessary, at Allen. Games 6 and 7, if needed, are slated for Fort Wayne on Tuesday, May 24 and Thursday, May 26.
