Nagle placed on injured reserve; Asmundson added

Nagle placed on injured reserve; Asmundson added

Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets announced Monday that goaltender Keegan Asmundson has agreed to terms and has been added to the Fort Wayne roster. Asmundson fills the void made by goaltender Pat Nagle who was place on 21-day injured reserve.

Asmundson, 26, was most recently in Fort Wayne when the Indy Fuel visited for an exhibition game on Oct. 7 and defeated the Komets 4-3. Asmundson earned the preseason win for the Fuel making 25 saves and appeared in all 60 minutes of the game. The Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota native will be entering his second full season after splitting last year in the ECHL with Evansville (seven games) and Indy (13 games). He also started three SPHL games with Pensacola. Asmundson made his pro debut in 2014-15 appearing in three games with South Carolina.

After three years of juniors, the netminder made his collegiate debut in 2012-13 winning the AHA Championship with Canisius College. During his final year of college, Asmundson was named the 2014-15 AHL Goaltender of the Year and named to the AHA Second All-Conference Team while with Canisius.Nagle was placed on the injured reserve list after starting the season with a goals-against average of 1.31, a .955 save percentage and an undefeated record of 3-0-0 in four appearances.

The week ahead: The Komets will skate three games this week starting with a visit to Cincinnati Wednesday for a 7:35pm faceoff. Friday the Komets return home to host the Indy Fuel at 8pm. The Komets will cap the week with a Sunday matinee at Brampton at 2pm. It will be the first three games out of 11 for the month of November including four home games and seven on the road.

Friday night Marathon Nights-- Again this year Komet fans can save on their Friday night tickets with Marathon. Fans can earn a buy-one-get-one-free ticket offer with the purchase of three fill-ups at participating Marathon locations. Save with your Marathon Fill-Up Card this Friday when the Indy Fuel visit for an 8pm faceoff on Sweetwater Ice at the Memorial Coliseum.

Komets on the air-- Most Komet games are scheduled to air this season on WOWO AM 1190 and FM 107.5. However this Sunday's game at Brampton will be carried on ESPN AM 1380 and FM 100.9 due to a scheduling conflict. All Komet radio broadcasts can also be heard worldwide as presented by Omni Source Radio Recycle at www.komets.com.
