Thomas trains back to Komets

Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets announced Tuesday that forward Kyle Thomas has been released from his PTO with the AHL's Cleveland Monsters and will be returning to the Fort Wayne roster Wednesday.

Thomas, 27, started his third season with the Komets this year and appeared in 47 straight games before getting a call from Cleveland and signing with the Monsters on Feb. 14 after netting his second career hat trick with the Komets in a 5-3 win at Kalamazoo. The right winger skated 12 games and scored a goal and added an assist for two points during his stint with the Monsters.

Thomas amassed career highs of 25 goals, 37 assists and 62 points before missing 14 Fort Wayne games. He continues to lead Komets with his 25 goals ranks second in points upon his return.

Komets open busy week of four games in five nights Wednesday vs Norfolk-- The Komets open a stretch of 11 games in 18 days to finish the season, including four games in five nights this week. The Norfolk Admirals visit for a 7:30pm faceoff Wednesday before the Komets head for Quad City and an 8:05pm (Fort Wayne time) start Friday. Saturday the Komets return home to host the Cincinnati Cyclones and Sunday the Florida Everblades are in town for a 5pm faceoff.

Season Ticket Recycling Night Wednesday-- This Wednesday is another Season Ticket Recycling Night when the Komets host Norfolk. Komet Season Ticket Holders will be able to exchange any unused Komet tickets from previously scheduled home games this year for tickets to the game Wednesday. Wednesday is also Deuces Wild Wednesday. Upper arena tickets will be sold at 2 for $22 and fans can get $2 beers and $2 sodas all night.

Al Sims Night Saturday-- Saturday Al Sims will be inducted into the Komets Hall of Fame as part of a ceremony to honor the former head coach's Fort Wayne career. Sims will have a banner with the number 504 raised to the Coliseum rafters to celebrate his Komet coaching record of 504 total wins. Sims claimed three division titles, two regular season titles and five league championships during his decade long Fort Wayne career. Sims will become the 41st inductee into the Hall of Fame and the 18th to have a number retired in his honor.Calling all Princesses-- Sunday the Komets and T.A.G. Art Company will be handing out free wands to the first 500 girls under 12 to enter the building as part of Princess Night. Prizes will be awarded for best princess costumes, too. Kids Seat Free Sunday-- Sunday is Kids Seat Free Night when Florida visits, courtesy Aunt Millie's, Parkview Health and the Komets. Any child under the age of 12 can see the game for free with a full-priced adult ticket purchase. Sunday is also Meijer Family Night. Coupons for a Sunday 4-for-$36 ticket offer are available at all Meijer locations around the Fort Wayne area. Also, fans can bring their skates for a free open skate after the game.
