The Komets announced Friday that forward Garrett Thompson has been called up to the AHL's Iowa Wild. Thompson, 28, currently ranks second on the Komets with 37 assists and 63 points after 58 games.
This is Thompson's first call-up to the AHL this season. The Traverse City, Michigan native is skating his fourth pro year and second season with Fort Wayne.
The Komets will skate tonight at Adirondack at 7:00 before capping the week with a 7:05pm faceoff at Worcester Saturday.
The next Komet home game is Wednesday, March 21 when the division rival Kalamazoo Wings visit for a 7:30pm faceoff.
