Fort Wayne, IN-- The ECHL announced Thursday that Komets' right winger Shawn Szydlowski has been named to the All-ECHL First Team for 2017-18.
Szydlowski is skating his fifth season with Fort Wayne and seventh as a pro. The St. Clair Shores, Michigan native was also selected to the All-ECHL First Team in 2014-15 and was named to the All-ECHL Second Team in 2015-16.Szydlowski has set new career season highs this year with his current ECHL leading marks of 77 points and +40. The skater also leads the Komets with 30 goals and 47 assists. Szydlowski appeared in his 300th ECHL game last Saturday night at Indy and has ECHL career totals of 130 goals, 191 assists and 321 points.
The All-ECHL First Team was determined in a vote of ECHL coaches, broadcasters, media relations directors and media.

This week the Komets will conclude the regular season schedule with three games in three nights starting with a 7:15pm faceoff at Toledo Friday. Saturday the Komets return home to host the Wheeling Nailers at 7:30pm before finishing the regular season slate Sunday when Cincinnati visits for a 5pm faceoff.Playoffs open Saturday, April 14-- The Komets will have home ice advantage in the first round of the Kelly Cup playoffs with the opponent yet to be determined. The first two games of the best-of-seven Western Conference quarterfinals series will be played in Fort Wayne on Saturday, April 14 at 7:35pm and Sunday, April 15 at 6:05pm. Game dates and times for games 3-7 will be announced when the Komets' opponent is officially determined.
Marvel Night Saturday-- Saturday is Marvel Avengers Night when the Komets host Wheeling. The Komets will wear special jerseys and all kids are invited to dress up in their favorite super heroes costume.

Season Ticket Recycling Night Sunday-- Sunday is another Season Ticket Recycling game when the Komets host the Cyclones for the regular season finale.
