Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets held their annual End-of-Season Party and Charity Jersey Auction Friday night at the Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne. The highest bid of the night was $2,500 for ECHL MVP Shawn Szydlowski's #27 sweater. It was the second time Szydlowski's jersey snagged the highest bid at a Komets end of season auction. The forward's jersey #19 pulled in a highest bid of $2,100 for the 2015-16 season.
The second highest bid Friday was $2,000 for Dennis Kravchenko's #24 and Cody Sol's #44 fetched a third highest bid of $1,650.
In addition, a 2017-18 Komets Scrapbook kept by Fort Wayne fan Tina Mohr garnered a bid of $500. Net proceeds from the auction are to benefit local charities.
A total of 25 game-worn jerseys and the special scrapbook combined for a grand total of $24,850, topping last year's auction total of $22,600.
