Komets Jersey Auction collects $24,850 for charity

Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets held their annual End-of-Season Party and Charity Jersey Auction Friday night at the Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne. The highest bid of the night was $2,500 for ECHL MVP Shawn Szydlowski's #27 sweater. It was the second time Szydlowski's jersey snagged the highest bid at a Komets end of season auction. The forward's jersey #19 pulled in a highest bid of $2,100 for the 2015-16 season.

The second highest bid Friday was $2,000 for Dennis Kravchenko's #24 and Cody Sol's #44 fetched a third highest bid of $1,650.

In addition, a 2017-18 Komets Scrapbook kept by Fort Wayne fan Tina Mohr garnered a bid of $500. Net proceeds from the auction are to benefit local charities.

A total of 25 game-worn jerseys and the special scrapbook combined for a grand total of $24,850, topping last year's auction total of $22,600.

The Komets' 2018-19 season home opener is slated for Saturday, Oct. 20 against the Kalamazoo Wings. Season tickets with special early bird pricing are on sale at the Komet office at 1010 Memorial Way in Fort Wayne. For more information visit the Komet office, Komets.com or call 260-483-0011.
