Fort Wayne, IN -- The Komets will open their 67th training camp for the 2018-19 season on Monday, Oct. 1 with a noon press luncheon at the Memorial Coliseum. All Fort Wayne area media are invited.
Head coach Gary Graham will introduce his coaching staff and all players on the preseason roster in attendance. All attending media will have the opportunity to meet Komet management, coaches and players.
Training camp begins with on-ice sessions starting Monday afternoon at 2:30 followed by a three-on-three scrimmage at 4pm at the Coliseum. The complete training camp schedule is listed below.
The Komets have scheduled two exhibition games against the Indy Fuel. The Komets visit Indy for a 6pm tilt Friday, Oct. 5 and both teams return to Fort Wayne for a 7:30pm faceoff Saturday, Oct. 6.
The Komets will open the season at Indy Friday, Oct. 12 at 7:35pm. The Fort Wayne home opener is Saturday, Oct. 20 against arch rival Kalamazoo at 7:30pm on Sweetwater Ice at the Coliseum.

Two players added to preseason roster-- The Komets announced on Wednesday that defenseman Brandon Lubin and forward Jake Hauswirth have agreed to terms and have been added to the preseason roster.Lubin, 27, made his ECHL debut in his rookie season in 2016-17 playing one game with Utah. He also split the season in the SPHL with Pensacola, Evansville and Fayetteville. Last season the Commerce Township, Michigan native appeared in 35 games with Evansville in the SPHL before signing with the Komets for two games in February. The defenseman rejoined Evansville and finished the season with four goals and 10 points in 46 total SPHL games with Evansville.
Hauswirth, 30, also has previous experience in a Fort Wayne uniform. The forward appeared in one game with the Komets during 2013-14. Hauswirth will be entering his 10th pro year after spending the last four seasons in the SPHL. Last year the Merrill, Wisconsin native recorded a career year leading Fayetteville with 26 goals, 39 assists and 65 points in 56 games and was named for a third straight year to the Second All-Star Team.
Currently the Komets have 10 players attending AHL training camps. Thomas Ebbing (F), Garret Ross (F), Garrett Ladd (F), Joseph Widmar (F), Jeff King (D), Cody Sol (D), Jason Binkley (D), Kyle Hayton (G) and Lukas Hafner (G) and are in the Chicago Wolves camp. Marco Roy (F) is at Laval's camp.
There are 30 players on the preseason roster including 17 forwards, 10 defensemen and three goaltenders. More information on the 2018-19 team will be available at the press luncheon on Monday.
