Fort Wayne, IN -- The Komets announced Wednesday that they have acquired forward Ryan Sirro from the Orlando Solar Bears for future considerations.
Siiro (SEAR-oh), 25, started this season appearing in three games with Orlando. Last year the Bloomington, Minnesota native split his rookie season with Peoria in the SPHL and the Colorado in the ECHL before helping Peoria to the SPHL President's Cup Finals scoring three assists and four points in seven playoff games. Prior to turning pro Siiro completed a four-year collegiate stint with Princeton University in 2016-17 serving as team captain his senior year.
In additional player movement, the Komets waived forwards Joseph Widmar and Kevin Miller.
Double-header home weekend-- The Komets will host the Indy Fuel Friday at 8pm for the first of five occasions this year after collecting a season-opening 3-1 win at Indy in their first meeting Oct. 12. Saturday the Komets welcome the Kalamazoo Wings for a 7:30pm faceoff.
Kids Seat Free Night Friday-- Once again this season the Komets will feature Kids Seat Free Nights. A Kids Seat Free Night is scheduled for this Friday when the Fuel visit courtesy Aunt Millie's, Lutheran Health Network and the Komets. Any child under the age of 12 can see the game for free with a full-priced adult ticket purchase.
Friday night Marathon Nights-- Again this year Komet fans can save on their Friday night tickets with Marathon.
