Fort Wayne, IN -- Komets goaltender Zach Fucale will be one of 25 players to wear the Maple Leaf with Canada's National Men's Team at the 2018 Spengler Cup to be held in Davos, Switzerland, Dec. 26-31.Fucale, a native of Laval, Quebec, will represent Canada in the oldest club tournament in the world. Canada has won the Spengler Cup the last three years and will look to win a fourth straight championship. Canada has won the Spengler Cup Championship 15 times since first taking part in 1984. Team Canada is also a nine-time runner up.
Fucale will leave for the national tournament today and is expected to miss five Komet games.
Fucale is serving his fourth pro season and has appeared in 15 Fort Wayne games to date going 8-5-0 with a 2.99 goals-against average and .896 save percentage.
