Fort Wayne, IN -- The Komets announced Wednesday that defenseman/forward Guillaume Naud has been claimed off waivers and forward Quintin Lisoway has been acquired from Wichita in a trade for cash.
Naud (GEE-ohm NODE), 26, sarted this season in the SPHL with Peoria. The Augsburg, Germany native also appeared in one game with Kalamazoo and 16 games with Indy in the ECHL. Naud made his ECHL and pro debut last season logging nine games with Greenville and one game with Manchester.
Prior to turning pro last year, Naud completed three seasons at Nipissing University in the OUAA (Ontario Universities Athletics Association) where he scored 10 goals and 32 points in 60 games.
The versatile skater, playing at both forward and defense, capped four seasons of juniors in 2012-13 scoring an MJHL-high 56 assists and adding 32 goals for 88 points with the Dauphin Kings. Naud was named the league's MVP for the year and a first-team All-Star.
Lisoway (LISS-oh-way), 24, finished a two-year collegiate stint last year with the University of Manitoba in the CWUAA (Canada West Universities Athletic Association) scoring totals of 20 goals and 33 points in 53 games. The Neepawa, Manitoba native made his pro debut this year skating 19 games with Rapid City and four with Wichita amassing ECHL totals of one goal, three points and six penalty minutes.Both Naud and Lisoway are available for action this weekend when the Komets host the Rapid City Rush Saturday night at 7:30. The Komets will travel to St. John's, Newfoundland next week for three games in three nights against the Growlers Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 8, 9 and 10.
