Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets upended the Walleye in Toledo Saturday night 5-3 to force game 6 of the Central division semifinals in Fort Wayne Tuesday.
The Komets took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission on Mason Baptista's first goal of the post-season. Anthony Nellis opened the second period with his first marker of the playoffs at 2:23 of the second period before Toledo struck to pull within one. Brady Shaw gave the Komets a two-goal margin with a power play goal at 12:52 before the Walleye countered with a power play tally at 18:02.
J.C. Campagna put the Komets up 4-2 at 6:02 of the third period for Fort Wayne's third power play goal of the night. The Walleye responded at 13:02 to cut Fort Wayne's lead to one at 4-3.
With Toledo goaltender Pat Nagle pulled for the extra attacker Anthony Petruzzelli hit the open net to complete a 5-3 Fort Wayne win with 36 seconds remaining in regulation. Zach Fucale registered the victory in his fifth straight playoff start making 32 saves on 35 shots. Nagle suffered the loss allowing four goals on 24 shots. The Komets finished at 3/6 on the power play. Toledo was 1/5.
Toledo's series lead was cut to 3-2 with game six slated in Fort Wayne Tuesday night at 7:35.-Gamesheet-If necessary, game 7 will be held at the Huntington Center in Toledo Wednesday.
