Rookie goaltender Eemil Vinnie turned away all 12 shots he faced as his team couldn't add to the lead despite a 5-on-3 power play late in the period.

The Komets couldn't rally in the third as the Nailers scored twice into an empty net to make it 4-1 final. Vinni made 33 saves in the loss.
The Komets faced Toledo on Saturday, hoping to snap their three-game winless streak.
Mitch Hults scored the only goal of the first period with a wrist shot that sailed past Toledo goaltender Carter Gylander at 16:19 with assists from Cody Morgan and Jonny Tychonick.
Hults struck again in the second to give the Komets a 2-0 lead on a power-play at 13:45, with Toledo answering with a short-handed goal at 16:57 to make it a one-goal game heading into the second intermission.
In the third period, the Komets' defense tightened and held Toledo off the scoreboard to take a 2-1 win. Goaltender Evan Cormier got the win, making 28 saves in his Komet debut.
The Komets visited the Fuel in Fishers on Sunday and came away with a 4-3 overtime win after trailing 3-0 in the third period.
After a scoreless first period, Indy’s Kyler Kupka scored shorthanded at 3:45 of the second period to break the stalemate and take a 1-0 lead, as the Komets outshot the Fuel 23-16 through two periods.
In the third period, the Fuel struck twice to take a three-goal lead until Mitch Hultz scored his third goal of the weekend at 6:39 to get the Komets on the board. Hultz's goal was followed by an Arnaud Durandeau tally at 10:48, with assists from Hultz and Jack Kopacka, cutting the Indy lead to one.
With time winding down, Josh Davies backhanded the puck over the shoulder of Indy goaltender Thomas Gale at 17:30 to tie the match and send it to overtime.
