The Komets shut out the Wings 4-0 at Kalamazoo at Wings Stadium Wednesday in front of a special morning school game crowd of 5,160. The Komets improve their season start to 9-1-0 for only the second time in the 63-year history of the Fort Wayne club, matching their record after the first 10 games of the 1978-79 season.
The Komets increased their win streak to four games and remain unbeaten on the road with a perfect 6-0-0 record after six road trips. The Komets also increased their lead in the North Division over rival second-place Kalamazoo to five points for an ECHL best 18 points.Four different players answered the bell for the Komets including Matthew Pistilli (RW), Shawn Szydlowski (RW), Christian Ouellet (RW) and Eric Faille (C). Szydlowski extended his point streak to four games (3g, 4a) and assist streak to three games (4a) while Pistilli pushed his point-scoring streak to four games (1g, 3a). Goaltender Pat Nagle collected his first shutout with the Komets and the third of his career stopping all 18 Kalamazoo shots and improving to 6-1-0 with his fourth consecutive road win.-Gamesheet-
The Komets are now 3-1-0 against the Wings after four meetings with 11 meetings remaining and continue their extended road tour Friday night with a 7:15 faceoff at Toledo. Saturday the Komets travel to Cincinnati for a 7:35pm start.
