The Komets announced Wednesday that forwards Tanner Froese and Phelix Martineau have agreed to terms and have been added to the Fort Wayne roster.Froese (phrase), completed a four-year college career this year with St. Norbert College in the NCHA, winning the 2018 NCAA Division III National championship. Froese served his senior year as captain of the Green Knights and scored college career highs of 14 goals, 20 assists and 34 points in 32 games. The Estevan, Saskatchewan native was selected as the 2018 Frozen Four's Most Outstanding Player. The forward was also named a First-team AHCA All-American honoree.

Martineau (MARR-tinn-oh), 20, recently completed a four-year collegiate career with Cape Breton. The Laval, Quebec native led the Screaming Eagles with 34 goals, 32 assists and 66 points while a senior captain this year. Martineau finished his college stint with three straight 20-plus goal seasons.In another transaction over the weekend, the Komets also added forward Anthony Petruzzelli to the roster. Petruzzelli (pet-true-CHELL-ee) made his pro debut with the Komets at Indy Saturday night. The Federal Way, Washington native logged four-years of college play with the University of Vermont this year scoring totals of 21 goals and 43 points in 140 career Hockey East games. Prior to his college career, Petruzzelli had three production seasons with the Books Bandits in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL). He led the Bandits in 2013-14 with 27 goals and 53 points as Brooks defended its South Division crown with 39 victories. In 2013 he led Brooks to the RBC Cup as National champions of Canadian Junior A hockey. Petruzzelli was named the AJHL Rookie of the Year in 2011-12.

The Komets also announced Wednesday that defenseman Sean Campbell has been placed on waivers.

The Komets will conclude the regular season schedule with three games in three nights this weekend starting with a 7:15pm faceoff at Toledo Friday. Saturday the Komets return home to host the Wheeling Nailers at 7:30pm before finishing the regular season slate Sunday when Cincinnati visits for a 5pm faceoff.

Playoffs open Saturday, April 14-- The Komets will have home ice advantage in the first round of the Kelly Cup playoffs. Opponent is yet to be determined, but the first two games of the best-of-seven Western Conference quarterfinals series will be played in Fort Wayne on Saturday, April 14 at 7:35pm and Sunday, April 15 at 6:05pm. Game dates and times for games 3-7 will be announced when the Komets' opponent is officially determined.Get your tickets early-- Tickets for this weekend's final two home regular season games and tickets for the first two Komet home playoff games are on sale at the Coliseum Ticket Office.
