Fort Wayne, IN-- The Komets gained three points in three games for the third consecutive week and improved to 44-19-6 and 94 points after 69 games.
Week 25 began with the Komets edging the visiting Kansas City Mavericks 2-1 Wednesday. Friday the Komets earned a point in a 3-2 overtime loss at Cincinnati. The Komets capped the week with a 5-1 setback at Indy Saturday snapping a streak of eight straight one-goal games.
For the week Justin Hodgman led with four points scoring a goal and adding three assists with points in each game. Daniel Maggio also had points in each game notching a goal and two assists. Garrett Thompson also marked in each game dishing three helpers while Cody Sol and Jason Binkley each contributed goals. Goaltender Michael Houser appeared in two of three games posting a 1-0-1 record, 2.13 goals-against average and .931 save percentage.
This week the Komets will conclude the regular season schedule with three games in three nights starting with a 7:15pm faceoff at Toledo Friday. Saturday the Komets return home to host the Wheeling Nailers at 7:30pm before finishing the regular season slate Sunday when Cincinnati visits for a 5pm faceoff.
Playoffs open Saturday, April 14-- The Komets will have home ice advantage in the first round of the Kelly Cup playoffs. Opponent is yet to be determined, but the first two games of the best-of-seven Western Conference quarterfinals series will be played in Fort Wayne on Saturday, April 14 at 7:30pm and Sunday, April 15 at 6pm. OT-- After going 58 games needing extra time on only six occasions, the Komets have gone to overtime six times over the last nine games. The Komets overall are 6-6 in games needing extra time (5-5 in overtime, 1-1 in shootouts).
Serving up thirds and more-- The Komets have scored at least a goal in the third period the last six straight games. The Komets have an ECHL third period high of 114 goals and rank second with 95 goals in the second period. Overall, the Komets continue to lead the league in goals scored with 276 after 69 games. The Komets have score at least two goals in 65 of 69 games played (44-15-6) and have been held to one goal in only four games (0-4-0). The Komets are 39-1-0 when scoring four goals or more in a game.

Season Ticket Recycling Night Sunday-- Sunday is another Season Ticket Recycling game when the Komets host the Cyclones for the regular season finale. Komet Season Ticket Holders will be able to exchange any unused Komet tickets from previously scheduled home games this year for tickets to the game Sunday.
